The Sammich Food Truck just closed its Seattle location

Sad news for sandwich lovers: The Sammich food truck that has been permanently located outside Maple Leaf’s Project 9 Brewing since last April is closed for good. Or forever, the choice is yours. Either way, if you want to try the Chicago-by-way-of-Portland mini-chain’s meaty, messy sandwiches, you’ll have to head to Oregon.

Get ready for a quick blog post, because that’s all there is to say. In an Instagram video, owner Mel McMillan — standing next to the truck while a guy tapes a “We’re Closed” sign to it — said “unforeseen circumstances” led to the closure. McMillan did not respond to a text message from Eater Seattle seeking further comment.

“Huge thanks to Project 9 Brewing for the great time and partnership!” she wrote on Instagram. “If anyone is interested in owning a piece of Sammich history, my food truck is for sale – message me!”

That leaves a void in the form of a food truck at Project 9 Brewing, a relatively new brewery that has made a name for itself thanks to its patio and impressively diverse tap list. The brewery continues to offer coffee and pastries through its brewery-based cafe, Full Tank Coffee.
