TCU safety Abe Camara was ejected for targeting in the TCU-Houston game

TCU Security Abe Camara was unfortunately sent off for targeted attacks in the match against the Houston Cougars on Friday evening. Camara was ejected for a hit with 6:49 left in the first quarter where he completely outplayed the Cougar running back Stacy Sneed.

Here is the video of the piece.

The hit, which came during a crucial third-down play in the first quarter, energized the crowd at Amon G. Carter Stadium and caused Sneed to fumble. Houston managed to recover the fumble, setting up a crucial fourth down.

After the hit, officials stopped play to review the target and concluded that Camara made forceful contact with Sneed’s head or neck area. He was subsequently excluded from the game. Houston then got the ball, halfway to the goal. Then, three plays later, they scored the game’s first touchdown on an eight-yard screen pass Devan Williams.

The ejection significantly impacted TCU’s depth at the safety position. Because of an injury on the sidelines, attention had to be paid to her backup safety. So they only had the security of their third string. Camara had to miss the rest of the game. But the good news is that he will be back for the next game.

At the end of the third quarter, Houston led TCU 24-12. The Cougars held a 17-0 lead at one point in the second quarter, but the Horned Frogs were able to fight back a bit. Houston running back Zeon Chriss currently has 11 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown.
