Here’s how to watch

Watch the Season 50 premiere Saturday Night Live September 28 at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

Whether you are a fan of it game of Thrones Prequel or not, anyone who has waited more than two years for the return of a popular series – only to then have trouble remembering storylines and characters from the previous season – can relate to watching this watch party ( Season 50 cast members Wickline, Heidi, Gardner, Andrew Dismukes and Devon Walker).

“Don’t worry, I’m sure there will be a recap,” Dismukes’ character says, as that recap then proceeds to pepper her with characters and locations that all seem to end in “-agos” or “-agon.” They are equally baffled by everything a mumbling character with an eye patch says (a supposed satire on…). House of the Dragonis Prince Aemond Targaryen).

Jelly Roll and Andy Samberg crash SNL‘s “Blonde Dragon People” sketch.

“Wait, are these all new characters or have they just aged strangely in the last few years?” Walker’s character asks his friends.

“I mean, I definitely remember the child queen. What happened to her,” Wickline’s character wonders. As it turns out, she’s gotten a lot older – now played by Jean Smart. And her scene introduces a new, enigmatic part of the franchise’s mythology.

Shortly after we meet a dog in a blonde wig named “Dogamos,” two new characters enter the scene: characters played by an elf-eared Samberg and the shaggy-haired Jelly Roll.
