Savannah Bananas Baseball Rules

The fun and creative Banana Ball has 11 rules which are shown below.

  1. Each inning is worth one point. The team that wins the inning gets the point for that inning. In the last inning of the game, every run counts.
  2. After two hours of play, a new inning cannot be started.
  3. A batter is not allowed to leave the field. If he does step out, a strike is added to the count.
  4. A batter is not allowed to bunt.
  5. The batter is allowed to attempt to steal first base on any pitch of an at-bat.
  6. There are no walks. If a pitcher throws four balls, every defensive player on the field must touch the ball before it is played. A batter can reach as many bases as possible.
  7. Catchers and trainers are not allowed to visit the mound.
  8. If a fan catches a foul ball, the catch will result in an out.
  9. If the game is tied at the end of the time limit, the showdown tiebreaker decides which team wins the game.
  10. Each team may appeal a call on the field (fair/foul ball calls, force/tag play calls, and catch play calls). Fans also have the opportunity to appeal a call during the game.
  11. The Golden Batter Rule allows a team to send any batter to bat anywhere in the lineup. It can only be used once per game.
