“American Pickers” star Frank Fritz has died at the age of 60

CNN

Frank Fritz, who appeared on the History Channel’s antique collecting show “American Pickers,” has died, according to his co-host and “American Pickers” creator Mike Wolfe. Fritz was 60.

Wolfe said in a statement posted on his Facebook page Tuesday that Fritz died Monday, writing that he had known Fritz for more than half his life and that he was “a dreamer as sensitive as he was funny.”

“As much behind the camera as in front of it, Frank had the opportunity to reach the hearts of so many people just by being himself,” Wolfe added. “We have taken countless trips and covered so many miles together, and I feel blessed to have been by his side as he made one final journey home.”

CNN has reached out to Fritz’s manager for further comment.

CNN was unable to confirm a cause of death.

Fritz appeared alongside Wolfe on “American Pickers,” a popular series on the History Channel that chronicled the two as they traveled across the country looking for valuable antiques to restore and resell in their antique shops. The show premiered in 2010.

“We are sad to announce that our friend and beloved member of the HISTORY Channel and American Pickers family, Frank Fritz, passed away on September 30, 2024. Frank has filmed American Pickers for over a decade,” a representative for the History Channel and Cineflix Production, producer of “American Pickers,” told CNN in a statement on Tuesday.

“We will always remember ‘the bearded charmer’ and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bicycles. Our thoughts are with Frank’s loved ones during this difficult time. We will miss him very much.”
